The Center for Aesthetic Education (hereinafter referred to as "Aesthetic Education Center") of the School of Architecture and Design of Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU) was established on October 10, 2021, as a permanent organization under the leadership of the School of Architecture and Design of BJTU to cooperate with the School, the College and various units on campus to carry out the teaching and practice of aesthetic education (Figure 1).
The Aesthetic Education Center aims to "promote virtue and art, promote self-confidence, shape the mind and take charge of beauty", and to carry out aesthetic education through public art courses for all college students, promote the construction of aesthetic education in line with the characteristics of talent training in our university, and improve the humanistic qualities of artistic talents in professional art education, so as to To carry out curriculum construction, scientific research, teaching reform, special teacher construction, teaching materials construction, teaching site planning and construction.
First, the " Cultivating Knowledge" education model of aesthetic education at Beijing Jiaotong University. It focuses on the disciplinary attributes and the doctrinal path of aesthetic education as a liberal arts education. "Pei" means that all disciplines are related to aesthetic education, as pointed out in Cai Yuanpei's educational philosophy of equal emphasis on the five educations and inclusiveness. "In Tao Xingzhi's theory of life education, "life is education, society is school, teaching is doing, and knowledge is transmission," it is proposed that aesthetic education should conform to the characteristics of "student-centeredness, learning by doing, teaching and learning from each other, and learning to live. "The characteristics of aesthetic education include The " Cultivating Knowledge" education model of aesthetic education is also a vivid embodiment of the motto of Beijing Jiaotong University, "Knowledge and Action".
Second, we established a "three-in-one" aesthetic education curriculum system and educational objectives. The "all-discipline, large-category" general arts curriculum was explored, and a "basic" curriculum was built in the categories (including fields) of art theory, music, art, design, calligraphy, dance, film, drama, literature, traditional culture, red culture, transportation, beautiful countryside, and green development. The curriculum system of "Basic Aesthetic Education - Precise Aesthetic Education - Special Aesthetic Education" has been established, emphasizing the general, cross-cutting and special characteristics of aesthetic education at different levels. The "Double Drive of Virtue and Beauty" integrates moral education with aesthetic education, establishes the education system of "whole field, whole student, whole process and whole platform", and clarifies the goal of aesthetic education for science and technology talents.
Third, we clarify the work path of "four integration" of the aesthetic education teacher team. We have built a team of teachers specializing in aesthetic education, both inside and outside the university, with equal emphasis on science and education. Through the introduction of teachers - building a pool of experts for the Aesthetic Education Center's teaching committee, so that the experts cover both inside and outside the university, and the research fields cover all disciplines of art, and at the same time absorb interdisciplinary experts. Teacher cultivation--Build the echelon of specialized teachers, rely on our teacher development center to improve the comprehensive quality of aesthetic education teachers, open up career development channels, and create a good teaching and research environment. It has formed a working path of integrated research and development of aesthetic education courses and specialized teaching materials, integrated education of professional courses and aesthetic education courses, integrated promotion of theoretical research and teaching practice, and integrated construction of professional teachers and general education teachers' teams.
Fourthly, we realize the "double classroom linkage" for diversified and multi-dimensional aesthetic education and literacy enhancement.
The first classroom is "invited in", and regularly holds brand activities such as "Aesthetic Education Lecture" and "Jiaotong University Art Season" to realize "diversified forms" and "multi-dimensional venues" of aesthetic education. The second classroom is "going out". The second classroom is "going out", independently developing the "Aesthetic Education Service Management Information System", establishing joint training bases for aesthetic education with museums, art museums, concert halls and primary and secondary schools, and opening up dual classrooms to meet the aesthetic needs of students with multiple choices, scenes, modes and experiences. The Aesthetic Education Center follows the school's aesthetic education work.
The Aesthetic Education Center follows the tasks of aesthetic education in schools, promotes the construction and development of aesthetic education in colleges and universities, focuses on guiding college students to establish a correct outlook on life and values, deeply implements the educational spirit of "cultivating people with beauty, nurturing people with beauty, strengthening people with beauty, condensing knowledge with beauty, and beautifying people with beauty", and cultivates builders and successors of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
