On the afternoon of July 14, 2024, the Seminar on Land Use Planning for the Solomon Islands, a short-term training program sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and organized by Beijing Jiaotong University, was successfully completed in Shenzhen Urban Railway Transportation Association. Mr. Zhao Penglin, former Deputy Secretary General of Shenzhen Municipal Government, Special Advisor to the Director of Xiongan New Area Management Committee of Hebei Province, and now the honorary President of Shenzhen Urban Railway Transportation Association, and Mr. She Gaohong, Vice Dean of the School of Architecture and Design, attended the closing ceremony and issued the certificates for the students.

        During the seminar, Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele of the Solomon Islands visit China in Beijing. The official visit and the academic seminar have great significance for strengthening cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region and deepening the relationship between the two countries in the fields of infrastructure, sustainable development, and climate change. A total of 39 department-level officials from the Ministry of Lands, Infrastructure, and Justice of the Solomon Islands participated in the seminar, which was completed after 21 days of in-class lectures, on-site visits, and exchanges.
