Painting and Calligraphy Art Research and Creation Center of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Research Institute, Beijing Jiaotong University is an educational institution which integrates communication, exchange, teaching, training, creation, scientific research and cultural promotion, and it is an important institution for cultivating professional practice ability of MFA postgraduates. It popularizes popularize for college students in the form of calligraphy and painting study and creation. The Center publicizes and popularizes traditional Chinese culture and the culture of Beijing Jiaotong University through organizing art experts inside and outside the university to create calligraphy and painting works, and holding calligraphy and painting exhibitions.

 

In recent years, the Center has cultivated 7 postgraduates, and set up more than 10 undergraduate courses and 5 postgraduate courses related to art education. The teachers and students have published mover 10 academic papers related to fine arts and design,  and undertaken some scientific research projects including Deepening Research on the Implementation of Railway Elements in the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Railway Site Park , Preliminary Work Study Project of Beijing Jiaotong University Xiong'an Campus - Research on Campus Culture, Color and Architectural Style of the New Campus of Beijing Jiaotong University , and Landscape Design for SD Competition Park in Desheng Village, Zhangbei County . Besides, the Center has held many exhibitions, including Setup of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Research Institute of Beijing Jiaotong University & “Moxiang · Siyuan” Calligraphy and Painting Art Exhibition, “Siyuan Zhiyuan Moxie Chuanxiang” Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition for the 120th Anniversary of Beijing Jiaotong University, “Forge Ahead” Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition for commemorating the reform and opening up for 40 years, and “Salute the new era” Royal Idea Painting Exhibition of Beijing Jiaotong University for celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

 

Recently, the Center will focus on “art education” and “innovative development and creative transformation of traditional culture”, and strive to realize the following goals: to inherit traditional Chinese culture and carry forward national studies and arts; to promote campus culture and campus civilization construction; to promote culture and art exchanges by traditional painting and calligraphy art creation exhibition; to promote academic discussion and exchange by traditional calligraphy and painting training, further facilitate inheritance and development of Chinese traditional painting and calligraphy, enhance the communication and exchange of calligraphy and painting art among peers, universities and the world, and expand the influence of Beijing Jiaotong University.
