The graduation ceremony of the seminar on sustainable development of cities in developing countries was held at Chongqing University

      On the morning of June 26, 2025, the graduation ceremony of the Ministry of Commerce's foreign aid training project "Seminar on Sustainable Development of Cities in Developing Countries" hosted by the School of Architecture and Art of our school was successfully held at the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Chongqing University. Li Heping, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Chongqing University, Professor Han Guifeng, Associate Professor Ye Lin, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of Chongqing Rail Transit Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. Ma Ting, Technical Director of China Coal Science and Technology Chongqing Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. Wang Guojue and Marketing Director Cao Yunjia attended the event, and Zhang Chun, a professor at the School of Architecture and Art of Beijing Jiaotong University, presided over the graduation ceremony.

      Secretary Li Heping, as the representative of the visiting units of this training class in Chongqing, delivered a concluding speech for the graduation ceremony. First of all, Secretary Li expressed warm congratulations on the successful completion of the visit and academic exchange of the project undertaken by the School of Architecture and Art of Beijing Jiaotong University in Chongqing. Later, Secretary Li expressed the hope that through this training, the trainees could feel the "real" China, the "real" Beijing and Chongqing. After returning home, they would share China's experience in sustainable development, urban planning, design and management, railway and urban traffic design and operation and maintenance capacity building, environmental protection, low-carbon development, and building smart cities with friends in South Africa, Armenia, Malaysia, Gambia, Afghanistan and Burkina Faso.

      After concluding remarks were made by participants' representatives from each participating country, Lesego Patience Monedi, a participant from South Africa, spoke as the representative of all participants in the seminar. She expressed her sincere gratitude to Beijing Jiaotong University for its invitation, saying that from the academic lectures, field visits, exchange visits and cultural experiences of this seminar, she not only gained valuable experience on sustainable development and infrastructure construction, but also deepened her understanding of Chinese culture and the two cities through the cultural experiences and field visits in Beijing and Chongqing. She mentioned that this seminar not only enhanced the international vision and professional skills of students from different countries, but also built an unbreakable cooperative relationship and emotional bond, which will surely become a solid foundation for equal respect, mutual benefit and win-win cooperation between multilateral countries and China.
